Old Trusty

Yesterday, after I finished school, I put up our 15-year-old, plastic pine needle-adorned, old-trusty Christmas tree. I love that tree. I've grown up with it, an old friend that, every year we have it out, I've looked up to. Up until now. I'm now tall enough to where it's more like I'm at eye level with the old man. But I love it.
So anyway, I did the lights and garland all by myself this year, a first for me, since usually my mom does them. I'd say it looks pretty dern good, for a first attempt. The top is kind of dim, but I blame that on the string of lights I used up there... Only about every 4th one was working.
After I put the tree up, I made some cookie dough brownies. They're pretty good, strange combo though. They're much better today than they were yesterday, fresh out of the oven.
Another thing I wanted to share as far as cooking & food goes: The other day I was hungry, so I went 'hunting' in the pantry and found some egg noodles. I made those, doused them with a bit of light tasting olive oil (I don't get it... light tasting?? so, it's just as fattening as regular, but still tastes like the same, diet-friendly olive oil we all know and love? It doesn't make sense to me) And sprinkled on some Mccormic Grill Mates seasoning, and voila! Simple noodles with a little bit of peppery, sesame seed-y, spice to it! It's quite tasty, and goes well with a salad, french bread, and green tea. Ahh.
Happy holidays all! Christmas will be here before we know it!
